#82 – The Way

“Do you know the way to San Jose?” one young man would use to say. “No, I’m afraid I cannot say I know the way to San Jose, but perhaps I will someday.”

I’d ponder about this day, the day that I might learn the way, to the beautiful place named San Jose.

I romanticized in this way, what if one day I opted to jump into the fray? And devote one whole day to finding the way, and upon my arrival I would play, and say, ‘I found the way! The way to San Jose! But no, I must go astray! Nay, I simply cannot stay, for I must pass on the knowledge of the way! I hope to see you all again one day, before I become all old and gray!’

And with that, I’d backtrack the way, to my original Quay by the barren road cay where I would forever stay. There, I would hope to pass on the way, to others seeking the wonders of San Jose.

Then perhaps, one fateful day, someone would ask me the way, and I’ll finally be able to say that I do know the way. And upon my explanation that would register in their memory bay, like an information ray, and they would be grateful to learn the way that they would say, “Hey! I think I will name my son or daughter after you one day, I may. Maybe I will call him Jay if he’s male, if the other, then maybe Faye.”

For this kind gratitude, I would never be able to repay. Then, on that day, I would be able to say, that I truly knew The Way.
But not just to San Jose, rather anywhere my eyes might sway. Some might say that money is the way, or that one should pray to find the way, but to me, in sheer human kindness is where true prosperity lay.”
