#59 – Intimate Shock Of Static

The world is cruel-
but at least I have you to hold.
The air is at it’s driest,
and this winter so very cold.

The tingle on the tip of my nose,
incites longing for your embrace.
So when I feel you approaching,
I turn to the warmth of your face.

With arms wrapped around you tight-
close the distance between our lips.
Then suddenly I am sent back reeling-
before completion of our eclipse.

By something unseen and mysterious,
yet so naturally systematic.
And together we learn to endure,
the intimate shock of static.

The snap of charge between us,
is painful but provoking.
How a small spark can be both-
so insignificant yet life-revoking.

Given the right mixture-
elements, chance, and location.
A stop for gas can transform
into appointment for cremation.

Then suddenly we fear,
ponder the cruelness of this place.
What are our odds?
Could it be that we are next to erase?

But then the fear subsides,
and a truth now exists.
We’ll always be together-
so long as we remember this:

As you slide into your car,
charge building in that leather.
Come around and pick me up-
and we’ll explode together.

Yeah?
